I've been a photographer and photojournalist for over 35 years now. Learned a few things during that time. As a photojournalist and Chief Photographer at The Palm Beach Post newspaper, I shot a variety of images including features, news, sports and illustrations. I've used large and medium format cameras in years past and then 35mm film and finally digital DSLR cameras. I loved black and white photography before color took over the industry. I still shoot some black and white because of it's simple artistic presentation. But, I primarily shoot color images today.
My focus has changed as I changed from photojournalism to Nature and Landscape photography. Now I try capturing beautiful and unique images of wildlife, landscapes, marcro and everything in between. My equipment consists of entirely of Canon gear. One real difference between photojournalism and nature or art photography is the post processing of the images. When you shoot for a newspaper, you are bound by journalistic constraints. Now, as a photographic artist, I'm perfectly free to express my artistic vision and create the most beautiful and appealing photographs I can. I have the artistic freedom to do that. I was actually a Fine Arts student in college, so it's refreshing to be free to express myself through my photography.
I hope you enjoy my images as much as I enjoy tracking them down and capturing them.
